Pandemic at the Disco

History in the Making

For the 27th edition of one North America’s longest running student-driven history conferences at Concordia University in Montréal, we took inspiration from the event’s titular epochs of disco and pandemic. Paying tribute to the lyrics of disco diva Sylvester (himself one of the towering creative figures tragically lost to the HIV/AIDS crisis) and the text-driven protest posters of ACT UP’s Montréal chapter, this series extended across digital print postering runs, silkscreened mementos for keynotes and panelists, a fully coded website featuring a Sylvester playlist and motion graphics for online promotion.
